Files

Upload files to give Carrier OS context. Uploaded files are processed and indexed, then become searchable knowledge you can ask about.

Upload a file

What happens

  • Upload — the file is sent to the Files API (POST /v1/files) and you get back a file_id.
  • Processing — the CLI triggers indexing via the File Processing API (POST /v1/files/<id>/process).
  • Knowledge indexing — once processed, the file's contents are retrievable through the Search API, so your chats can draw on it.

List your uploads

Beta. The public API has no list-files endpoint yet, so /files lists uploads recorded on this machine only.
After uploading, just ask about the document — e.g. “summarize the risks in report.pdf”.
