Rate Limits
Every API key is rate limited on a daily window. The limit is set by the key's tier and resets at 00:00 UTC.
Tiers
| Tier | Requests / day | Intended for |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 100 | Evaluation and prototyping |
| Developer | 10,000 | Production apps for small teams |
| Enterprise | Unlimited | High-volume, custom SLAs |
New keys start on the Free tier. Billing can raise a key's tier or set a custom limit.
Response headers
Every authenticated response includes your current rate-limit state:
| Header | Description |
|---|---|
| X-RateLimit-Limit | Max requests allowed in the window (or "unlimited"). |
| X-RateLimit-Remaining | Requests remaining before you hit the limit. |
| X-RateLimit-Reset | Unix epoch (seconds) when the window resets (next 00:00 UTC). |
Exceeding the limit
Once you exceed your daily limit, requests return 429 with the standard error envelope until the window resets:
HTTP/1.1 429 Too Many Requests
X-RateLimit-Limit: 100
X-RateLimit-Remaining: 0
X-RateLimit-Reset: 1753747200
{
"success": false,
"error": {
"code": "TOO_MANY_REQUESTS",
"message": "Rate limit exceeded: 100 requests/day (free tier). Resets at 2026-07-29T00:00:00.000Z."
}
}Watch
X-RateLimit-Remaining to back off before you hit 429, and retry after the time in X-RateLimit-Reset.
