Interactive Shell
Running cos with no command opens the interactive shell — the default experience. Type naturally to chat, or type / for commands.
The welcome banner
On launch the shell shows the Carrier OS brand mark and your current context — workspace, project, Carrier mode, and provider model — followed by the input prompt:

The prompt is a chat box. Type a message and press Enter; there is no command to remember:

❯ Explain OAuth refresh tokens.
❯ Generate a React login form component.
❯ Review this SQL query for injection risks.Slash commands
Type / to open the command palette. It filters as you type (/mo → /models, /model, /mode, /modes). Use ↑ / ↓ to select and Enter to run. See Commands for the full list.
Responses stream in
While a turn is processed the input bar stays pinned at the bottom and a thinking indicator animates above it. The answer then streams in, led by a ● marker, with a completion line when it finishes.
Beta. Streaming is simulated in the shell: the
/v1/chat endpoint returns the full response, which the CLI then reveals word-by-word. Server-sent token streaming is not yet available.Keyboard shortcuts
